Everything for municipalities and towns

How does recycling work, and who funds it?

Packaging waste that residents place in recycling bins is collected by a waste management company, which then transports it to a sorting facility. Workers on the sorting line sort the waste, separating the materials that will proceed to the next stage of recycling from those that will be sent for energy recovery. The waste sorted in this way is then processed at authorized treatment facilities.

Customer service center

Cities most often delegate their authority to participate in the collection system to municipal agencies or budgetary organizations, such as public works departments or municipal enterprises. Municipalities primarily carry out this task through collection centers located within their jurisdictions. ASEKOL SK therefore offers them a mutually beneficial partnership for the collection of e-waste, waste batteries, and accumulators.

This partnership can be established through a contractual relationship with the registered producer organization ASEKOL SK, s.r.o., which has been authorized for such activities by the Ministry of the Environment of the Slovak Republic. The removal of collected commodities from the collection yard is carried out by the relevant regional carrier based on an order placed by the collection yard operator via email to:zber@asekol.sk

Legislation, laws, and obligations

ASEKOL SK s.r.o., in accordance with its obligations as a producer responsibility organization for the 4th Q 2025 in the separate collection of municipal waste, collected 220,500 kg of waste from electrical and electronic equipment and 18,633 kg of waste from used batteries and accumulators.

Municipalities and cities in Slovakia are key partners for the producer responsibility organization ASEKOL SK in ensuring the separate collection of e-waste and waste batteries and accumulators.
